Ritt had his CD Release Party in Madison last Saturday to a capacity crowd at Cafe Montmartre. Sara Pace got the crowd nicely riled up and Ritt brought down the house. It was a great ending to what had been a busy week of rehersals and performances. Ritt was on Urban Theater on UPN-TV14 and made an appearance on John Fabke's Pastures of Plenty program on WORT 89.9fm.Listen to Ritt's WORT appearance! The CD got a nice review in The Onion, which said, in part, "He works the same side of the street as Greg Brown and Bruce Cockburn, with songs that are concurrently earthy, ethereal, and intelligent. "Bluebird" never specifically references politics or the economy, but it is infused with the struggle between rural and urban, family and philosophy, haves and have-nots. "The Fire Song" follows with a sense of looming despair and dark desperation that would feel right at home in the hands of Calexico."Couldn't of said it better ourselves!Ritt is now preparing for next weekend's swing through Indiana, Kentucky and Ohio. Should be fun!
