** BUGSY'S BASEMENT TAPES!

Bugsy’s Basement Tapes are the first stage of Grape Juice Plus’s new recording project. Named for the tripod cat who likes to writhe around on the floor during GJP sessions, the room where said GJP sessions happen, and an antiquated word for recording; the idea was born out of one of the most common feelings…frustration.
While preparing for a show, space ape Barry decided to kill two birds with one stone and set up to record. The gremlins were at work, though. Unable to get a satisfactory headphone mix conducive to creation, a frustrated space ape pulled the mics away from the cabs and stuff, cranked up the rig through the amp and they just jammed with no thought of recording.
But they did…
The “tape” was rolling…
The cat was dancing…
GJP recognized the band on the tape.
It was them.

Here is THE PLAN:

* Phase one: Barry will edit and mix 10-20 min “as it happened” chunks of music culled from the basement tape style sessions.
* GJP will release these digitally periodically on a donation model via band camp in a numbered series.
* Phase two: Eric Klotz will take the Bugsy tapes collected over time and edit, chop, massage, rearrange… whatever he wants. He can use any of the released or unreleased chunks given to him by Barry. THAT album will become GJP’s next physical audio release.
* Phase three: different artists may be invited to take a crack at remixing the Bugsy tapes as they compile. These would become a future release.

This will be fun. Take a drink. Lets go for a ride.
